It is unknown whether alcohol or drug intoxication was a cause of the single-vehicle crash.

Can You File Damage Claims to Your Auto-Insurance if You’re A Passenger?

If you are a passenger who was involved in a car accident and has auto insurance of your own, you should not be using your own auto insurance to pay for any injuries or damages you sustain from the crash. First of all, this is an invalid claim since your auto insurance coverage only applies to the vehicle that you register it to. Since you are a passenger, you cannot use your own auto insurance. However, you can file a claim against the driver of your vehicle. You can do this directly against them, or file it against their auto insurance provider.
