December 28, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

On Friday, December 25th, a pedestrian was reported to have been struck by a vehicle in Watts. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The incident happened on 110 Freeway just before 3:00 p.m. The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man from Los Angeles, was standing near a mound when he was struck by a 2015 Nissan Altima that veered off-road. The pedestrian was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan Altima, a 23-year-old man from Los Angeles, had minor injuries but was not brought to the hospital for treatment. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the crash.

If At-Fault Driver Was Injured in Crash, Can You Still File A Claim?

Yes, you can. Even if the at-fault driver is injured, you, as the victim, can still pursue a personal injury claim against them for their actions. You can choose to pursue this claim directly against the driver or through their auto insurance provider. If the at-fault driver is a resident of California, then they must have auto insurance. When that is the case, it is better to file against the auto insurance provider first.
