Car Fell 125 Feet from Highway 17

A single-vehicle crash was reported to have taken place on Highway 17, near Lexington Reservoir in Santa Clara on Sunday, October 4th, 2020. The crash is estimated to occur around 8:46 p.m. Santa Clara County Fire Department led the rescue efforts. The vehicle veered off-road from the highway and fell 125 feet down a nearby hill.

Three people were found to be occupying the vehicle. Two of them managed to rescue themselves from the vehicle while another passenger was trapped inside by the time the rescue team arrived. It required nearly two hours to rescue this person. All of the passengers were injured – one with severe injuries, one with moderate injuries, and another with minor injuries. They were immediately transported to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
