A single-vehicle accident was reported to occur on Sunday, October 11th in Visalia. California Highway Patrol was the first responder at the scene. The vehicle was identified as a 99 Lexus RX300, occupied by one person, a male driver. His vehicle was overturned on Highway 99, near Avenue 44, due to unknown reasons. The impact of the crash threw the driver out of the vehicle, causing him severe injuries. Despite the efforts of paramedics at the scene, he succumbed to his fatal wounds.

Are Driver Ejections from Vehicles During Crash Normal?

Certain crashes can cause drivers to be ejected from vehicles. Rollover crashes are especially vulnerable to this. Lack of seatbelt use can also raise the risk of getting ejected from a vehicle during an accident. Thus, it isn’t exactly a normal occurrence, but it does happen a lot in certain crashes. If you were already wearing your seatbelt, yet was thrown out of your vehicle during an accident, there might be something wrong with your vehicle. If this is the case, then you should consider pursuing a product liability claim against either the car dealership where you bought your car or the manufacturer of your vehicle.
