Driver Jailed for Fatal Foothill Freeway DUI Car Crash

On September 14th, 2020, a 2012 BMW 528i car struck a tow truck driver who was helping a disabled driver on the Foothill Freeway, near Fruit Street. The incident was reported to have occurred around 9:00 p.m. The tow truck driver, a 40-year-old man, was standing at the freeway’s shoulder when the car hit him. He died instantly from his injuries. The car was driven by a 24-year-old woman who was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. She was jailed the next day at Los Angeles County Sheriff Department.
