Multiple Traffic Incidents Reported in Long Beach

Several traffic accidents occurred on Long Beach on Friday, September 29^th, and Saturday, September 30^th. Long Beach Fire Department and Long Beach Police Department were the authorities at both scenes.

The first accident occurred near Cherry Avenue and 45^th Street on Friday. The accident was a solo automobile accident involving a 2002 Subaru driven by an 18-year-old male driver. He was driving south on Cherry Avenue when he suddenly veered off road and crashed the median strip. It then spun out of control before finally colliding with a nearby tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second accident took place on Saturday, just past midnight at Pacific Coast Highway. A pick-up truck that was driven by a 40-year-old man struck the back of a tractor-trailer that was driving past a green light. The pick-up truck was traveling at high speeds. The driver, which was known to be a 40-year-old man, succumbed to his fatal injuries.
