A single-vehicle crash on Monday, October 19th ended fatally after the driver crashed into a nearby tree in Fullerton. The incident happened near South Euclid Street and West Hill Avenue. Fullerton Police Department, who is leading the investigation of the case, received a report of the incident at around 7:30 p.m. The vehicle involved was identified as a dark-colored Kia Optima, which was occupied by two men, a driver, and a passenger. Though their names were not disclosed by the police, it is known that the driver was 27 years old while the passenger was 28 years old. Both sustained heavy injuries from the crash. The passenger died at the scene.

Can You File A Wrongful Death Claim on Behalf of a Deceased Passenger?

If your loved one recently died from a car accident, you can choose to file a wrongful death claim against the individual responsible. However, you should be an immediate family member or the beneficiary of their estates if you’d like to pursue this claim. You don’t need to immediately file a wrongful death claim – you have up to two years to file this claim after the date of the car accident.
