Should You Use Your Auto Insurance to Deal with Your Crash-Related Damage?
If you were involved in a single-vehicle crash and have personal insurance protection (PIP) coverage, then you should use your own auto insurance to deal with any crash-related damage that ensued. However, if your crash involved another vehicle, then do not use your own auto insurance before the at-fault party has been determined. This is because if you weren’t the at-fault driver, yet you chose to use your own insurance, you will face issues if you then later would like to pursue a personal injury claim against the driver.
