A pedestrian was left injured after a vehicle hit a pizza truck in Echo Park on Saturday, December 26th. The Los Angeles Police Department is leading an investigation into the case. The incident happened just past 9:00 p.m. near Sunset Boulevard and Marion Avenue. A 1998 Toyota Corolla that was traveling west on Sunset Boulevard suddenly crashed into the backside of the pizza truck which was operated by Nico’s Pizza.
As a result, a male pedestrian who was standing next to the truck was hit by the pizza truck which moved due to the impact of the Toyota’s crash. Several other vehicles were also damaged from the crash, including a Hyundai Elantra and a Chevrolet Express. The pedestrian was severely injured and was sent to the hospital for treatment. The driver of the Toyota, a 54-year-old man, was also severely injured and brought to the same hospital. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
Can You Be At Fault for A Car Accident You Did Not Cause?
It is possible. Fault in a car accident may be attributed to more than one party. If, for example, like the case above, the truck was not parking at the right place, then fault may also be attributed to the truck driver, not just the Toyota driver. Determining this requires the expertise of a lawyer. If you want to get in touch with a car accident attorney in California, call us today at (800) 310-1606 for a free consultation.
