Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Bakersfield

October 3, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A pedestrian was hit by a car on southwest Bakersfield on Thursday, September 29th. Bakersfield Police Department was the first responder at the scene. They received information that the accident occurred around 9:00 p.m., between Stockdale Highway and Fairway Drive. The pedestrian was injured from the accident and was taken to the nearest hospital. It is unknown whether the driver stayed at or fled from the scene. Police are still investigating the cause of the incident.

Can I Still Sue A Driver Who Remains at the Scene?

Although it is a sign of goodwill when drivers do not flee from an accident scene, it doesn’t mean that you should give up the idea of pursuing a lawsuit against them. This is especially true if your insurance coverage and the driver’s insurance provider do not give enough payout on your medical treatment and damages claim.
