October 25, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

On Saturday, October 17th, a single-vehicle crash was reported to have occurred in Santa Clarita, near Lyons Avenue and Walnut Street. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff is the lead investigator of the case. An unknown four-wheeled automobile crashed into an antique store called Barn & Charm on Lyons Avenue.

The crash was reported to have occurred just after 8:30 p.m. The vehicle was driven by a person who was found by the authorities to have been driving under the influence of alcohol. This person is currently under arrest. The vehicle crashed into the storefront, although authorities were still assessing the level of damage to the store’s structure due to the incident.

Can Business Owners File Damage Claim Against Negligent Drivers?

If your business property was damaged by a driver’s action, you can pursue a claim against them. However, beware – there’s also a possibility that the driver will counterclaim you instead! Usually, their argument would revolve around premise liability – which is when a personal injury that happens in a person’s property, is attributable to the person. No need to fear, however, if you are faced with this kind of claim if you know that the driver is the one in the wrong.
