Six Injured After Boating Accident in Huntington Beach

A boat ended up exploding in Huntington Beach on Sunday, November 1st. Warner Fire Station was one of the first responders at the scene. Huntington Fire Department and Orange County Sheriff Department will be leading the investigation to the case.

A boat was sailing on Huntington Harbour, near Peter’s Landing when it suddenly went up in flames. It was occupied by six people during the time of the incident, including a 3-year-old child and a 70-year-old. All of them were injured due to the explosion, sustaining burns of varying severity. A 7-year-old who was on the boat was thrown into the water due to the impact of the explosion and ended up with the most severe burn wounds. They were rescued by another boater, Trent McWhinney, who witnessed the incident. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
