Two Dead from Aircraft Diving into Van Nuys Parking Area

September 13, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A small aircraft crashed on Saturday, September 12th, at around 3:00 p.m in Van Nuys, California. It suddenly dove into a parking area near Hart St. and Hayvenhurst Ave. The location of the crash isn’t far from the nearest airport, Van Nuys Airport. The aircraft plunged shortly after taking off from Van Nuys, as it was traveling to Santa Ynez Airport in Santa Barbara County. Two people died at the scene of the accident, and the plane also exploded in flames. Three vehicles parked in the area were also damaged from the incident. Traffic in the surrounding area is being re-routed. Van Nuys Airport is operating as normal.

Can You Sue Aircraft Pilots?

In the event of a plane crash where the pilot is working on behalf of an employer, then you must direct your lawsuit against the employer. However, if the pilot of the aircraft was flying on their own will, then your lawsuit should be filed against the pilot directly. You can file this lawsuit if you experienced damages because of the crash, both economic and non-economic.
