Woman Dead After Hit-and-Run in Koreatown

A hit-and-run accident took place in Koreatown on Friday, October 2nd at around 1:20 a.m. Los Angeles Police Department is the lead investigator in the case. They received reports that a woman, who was lying on the crossroads between Fifth Street and Wilton Place, was hit by an oncoming vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Eyewitnesses testified that the vehicle was a dark SUV – suspected to be a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Video recording of the incident was also recovered from a nearby surveillance camera. It is found that the driver of the vehicle stopped when the incident occurred, but did not leave the vehicle and immediately fled the scene soon after. Authorities have succeeded in identifying the victim, a 33-year-old woman from Los Angeles whose name is yet to be released.
