November 17, 2020 Alan Ahdoot

A multi-vehicle crash was reported in Canyon County on Tuesday, November 3rd. California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Fire Department were present at the scene of the accident. The crash happened on 14 Freeway, near Soledad Canyon Road, just after 9:30 p.m. Three people were found injured, all requiring hospitalization. Amongst these three victims, one was thrown off their vehicle. One of the vehicles involved in the crash helped transport the victims to Facey Medical Center, which was the nearest hospital from the crash location. The driver responsible for causing the crash left their vehicle and tried to flee on foot, but was successfully apprehended by the authorities. They were found to have been driving under the influence of alcohol and were arrested on said charge.

Can You File Personal Injury Claim Against DUI Drivers?

Even though drivers who have been arrested for DUI will be processed in the criminal court, it doesn’t mean that you can’t pursue a personal injury claim against them. After all, personal injury claims aren’t criminal cases; they are civil ones. Civil cases are processed in civil court, which means that it is possible to file a civil claim while the at-fault driver is also being trialed in the criminal court.
